Viola Jane "Janie" Bailey, age 81, of Jasper, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 12:22 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 08, 2026 at 2:00pm at Pisgah Baptist Church visitation will be 1:00 pm till time of service burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery. Bro. Ken Mostella will be officiating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lena Shields; her brothers, Troy and Alvin Shields; her sisters, Dorothy Montgomery and Maelene Cooper; and her husband, Ray Bailey.

She is survived by her son, Will Roden of Jacksonville, Florida; and her daughter, Pam Haddock (David) of Nashville, Tennessee. She was a proud grandmother to six grandsons and was also blessed with six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Medie Rice, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and Kasey Payne, who was like a son to her.

Janie was an active member of Pisgah Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family. She will be greatly missed by her family, church family, and many friends.
