Mr. Travis Eugene Harris, born July 30, 1947, age 72, of Dora passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, July 16, 2020.  Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 20, 2020 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial at Bryan Cemetery.  Bro. Don Padgett will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service.  Bell Sumiton Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Harris was a Baptist preacher and Missionary for 50 years.  He preached in eight different countries and pastored several churches, including Faith Independent Missionary Baptist Church in Burnwell, AL.  He wanted to be known as "just a servant".  He loved his family and serving the Lord.  His heart's desire was that everyone would come to know and love the Saviour.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Helen Harris; and sister, Martha Mooney.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Earlene (Birchem) Harris; children, Lori Sullivan Newberry of SC, Jill Turner (Dale) of Manchester, TN, Jonathan Harris of Leeds, Chad Harris of Gardendale, Seth Harris (Elizabeth) of Dora, and Emma-Lea Harris of Poulsbo, WA; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Harold Harris (Brenda); and a host of other relatives and friends
