Steve Smith age 66 of Steger, IL passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Edward Hines VA Hospital in Hines, IL. A Family Gathering will he held here at Bell Sumiton Chapel on Saturday, November 09, 2024 from 11-4.

Steve was  preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Francis Smith, of Empire, AL, and his sister, MyraJo Smith.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lyn Smith of Sedalia, MO; his sister, Brenda K. Samaritano of Cordova, AL; his granddaughter, Jaeyden Meyer of Sedalia, MO; and his uncles, Olen (Gene) Hill of Cordova, AL, and Johnny Hill of Empire, AL.

Steve was a man who loved his family and friends deeply. He had a passion for working on things, always keeping busy with projects, and was known for his workaholic nature. Whether fixing something around the house or helping others, Steve gave his time and energy freely. His dedication to his work and his loved ones will be remembered by all who knew him.
