Mrs. Shirley Benton, born December 29, 1938, passed away at the age of 82 Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at her residence.  Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Dora Church of God with burial in Wells Celestial Gardens.  Bro. Lewis Smith will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services.  Bell Funeral Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Watson and Lula Neumann; brothers, Lyn and Larry Watson; sisters, Matha Watson and Glenda Howerton; husband and forever sweetheart, James "Jim" Benton; and daughter, Jina Benton.

She is survived by her sons, Steve Mayes and Tim Benton (Doris); daughters, Cindy Brown (Paula Mills) and Tammy Hart (John); sister, Patti Simmons; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom all loved her dearly.
