Sheila Walls Dates, 68, of Oakman passed away October 15, 2026 surrounded by family. Sheila was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and sister. She was a dedicated employee for 20 plus years at Gorgas Steam Plant. Sheila enjoyed working on house projects and spending time with her family and friends. Sheila was proceeded in death by her parents Dewey C. Walls and Betty Ruth Walls; brother Dwight Walls; nephews Lynn Walls, Scott Busby, and David Busby; Brother in Law Darryl Jackson. Sheila is survived by her children Clayton Mullins (Emily), Dawn Fulton and Dennis Fulton; grandchildren Peyton Hughes (Brandon), Amiah Webster (Nathan), Allyson Mullins (Brent), Rebecca Mullins (Devan); great grandchild Jaxon Hughes; sisters Janice Jackson, Lisa Ratcliff (Marty); brother Terry Walls (Linda) and her life long friends Sharon Courington and Maria and Kenny Jean and many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends. The visitation will be Monday October 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Bells Funeral Home in Sumiton. The funeral will begin at 11:00 AM with graveside to follow at Fairview Cemetery, with Pastor James Haygood officiating.
