Rodney "Chop" Blackwell, age 60 of Goodsprings died Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with cremation to follow.   Mike King will be officiating.  Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.  Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Preceding him in death was his father, John Blackwell; his mother, Martie Wade; and his sister, Diane Ridings.

Survivors include his son, Nick Blackwell (Crystal) of Goodsprings;  brothers, Johnny Blackwell (Kathy) of Fultondale, Ronnie Blackwell (Brenda) of Oakman, and Ricky Blackwell (Rhonda) of Oakman; sister, Susie Martin of Oakman; grandson, Easton Blackwell of Goodsprings; and step grandsons, Joshua Parker and Austin Parker.
