Robert Dale Vest, age 83 of Sumiton, Al finished his race on November 8th, 2023. He passed at Walker Baptist. He started it November 11th,1939. The funeral will be Monday November 13th, 2023 at 2:00pm at Bell Sumiton Chapel. The visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Ron Woodard will officiate. Burial will follow at Bryan Cemetery

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert M. Vest and Valcie Dorilla Bell Vest, his sister, Marie Vest Birchem, and his brothers, James (Buddy) Vest, Gerald (Jerry) Vest, and Harold (Lee) Vest.

He is survived by his ex wife Shelby Vest of Dora, Al, and his son, Bobby Vest of Sumiton, Al. his sisters, Louise Vest Caldwell of Jasper, Al and Leatha Vest Chandler of Jasper, Al and several nieces and nephews. Robert was a loving husband, and father who loves Jesus. He was blessed with a trade of furniture mfg and upholstery which he started at 16 years old.
