Retha Aaron Rice went to be with the Lord late Sunday evening July 5 th , 2020 at age of 99 years old living at her residence. She was a loving, caring Christian Women, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grand Mother, Great Great Grand Mother, and Registered Nurse. She cared for many, and loved every moment working for the Hospital, Nursing Home and Teacher and Instructor of Clinical Nursing at Bevill State Community College. She maintained her full mental state and abilities up until the time of her death. Friends and Family would marvel at the chance to sit and talk with her because of her long life and lifetime experiences. She will be truly missed, but we know that she is walking the streets of Gold.
She is preceded in death, by her Husband Lawson L. Rice; Father John Aaron; Mother Anna Parker Aaron; Brothers Arnold, Bill, Hubert, Leonard Aaron, Sisters Bessie Clark, and Willie Mae Gilbert.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny A. Rice and Spouse Linda Wilke Rice, and Donald R. Rice, Spouse Gwen Richards Rice; Grand Sons Michael Rice, Spouse Teresa Reed Rice; Andrew (Andy) Rice; Granddaughters Michelle Rice Parrish, Spouse Greg Parrish; Melissa Rice Black, spouse Michael Black; Audrea Rice Robbins, Spouse Tracy Robbins; Aonya Rice Gray, spouse Rob Gray. Seventeen Great Grand Children, and Four Great Great Grand Children.
Services will be held on Wednesday July 8th, 2020 at Sumiton Bell Funeral Home Chapel and conducted by Bishop Toby Morgan, Texas State Overseer of the Church of God, great nephew of Retha A. Rice. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with burial in the adjoining Morgan Cemetery. Pallbearers are Michael Rice, Andrew (Andy) Rice, Greg Parrish, Michael Black, Tracy Robbins, and Rob Gray. Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Cordell and nephew, Eddie Cummings. A special thanks to the loving caregivers for their faithful service, Irene, Tracy, Annie Merle, and Judy.
Flowers, or a donation in memory to your favorite charity are welcome, but your prayers for our family will be cherished.
