Obituary

Paul Franklin Johnson, 56, born September 17, 1967, to his beloved parents Jack and Joyce Johnson, who have gone before him. His sister, Sheila Kilgore and Mother in Law Beverly Sutherland also preceded him, surely welcomed him with a loving embrace in Heaven.

A man deeply rooted in faith, Paul never missed a chance to share the blessings God had bestowed upon him. Whether reading his Bible to his grandchildren or praising God through life's trials, Paul's life was a testament to God's grace, even in times of doubt. Throughout his life, Paul embodied incredible physical strength, whether in construction and roofing or in his victorious arm wrestling championships, where he stood as a formidable force. Harnessing this strength, he nurtured a deep-seated creative spirit, leaving behind a legacy of artistry in the knives, walking canes, and jewelry he meticulously crafted.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, Paul's greatest pride and joy were found in his family. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Leah Parker, and children Keith Johnson (Tasha), Kayla Johnson (Lee), Matt Parker (Cassie), Mallori Dozier (Cody), and Kayla Hicks (Josh). Among those who held a special place in his heart was his "baby girl," Angel Maddox, with whom he shared a unique bond. To watch over and care for the family, Paul also leaves behind his siblings, Mark Johnson, Connie Reed, and Terri Lynn Middleton (Rod), Johnny Burnett (Karen), Cindy Calabrese as well as his beloved godmother, Martha Burnette, and numerous other family members, friends, and friends who became family.

Of all the titles Paul Johnson bore, "Pawpaw" was the one he wore with beaming pride. His sense of humor, charisma, and charm live on in his grandchildren: Keilea, Elizabeth, Everleigh, Kyla, Liam, Mia, Maci, Isaiah, Kaden, Bentley, Kodi Annlea, Kenslee, Kaselyn, and Colby, as well as his great-grandchild, Oakley. On June 28, 2024, Paul left this earth and was reunited with his best friends and brothers, Buddie Langston and Keith Ferguson, at the pearly gates. They were sure to shake calloused hands, share laughs, and embrace, reunited in the hereafter, yet still living on in our hearts and memories. Paul's life was marked by strength, creativity, and an unwavering love for his family, who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.

His legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship will continue to inspire and be cherished by all who knew him. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd, at 5:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be reserved for the family in a private ceremony at a later time.
