Mr. Oklend "Okie" Asbury Reed, age 90, of Birmingham passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at his residence.  Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Dilworth Church of God Cemetery.  Rev. Gabriel Reed will officiate.  Visitation will be 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Wednesday at Bell Sumiton Chapel.  Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Reed retired as a Sears mechanic after 38 years.  He loved country music, playing his guitar and singing, and he loved to go fishing.  He dearly loved all of his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, D.O. and Bertha Reed; brothers, Orvie Jean Reed, O.D. Reed and Howard Reed; grandson, Brad Bridges; and granddaughter, Kristy Hodge.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, May Bell Reed; daughters, Patricia Rosetta, Diane Reid (Richard) and Connie Bridges; son, Tim Reed (Martha); 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
