Marlon "Pete" Freeman, age 71 of Sumiton passed away July 16, 2019 at his residence.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Brasfield Cemetery.  Harold Spradlin will be officiating.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home Friday.  Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Preceding him in death were his father, Earnest Freeman; mother, Audie Mae Freeman; son, Mark A. Freeman; and a host of brothers and sisters.

His survivors include his wife, Peggy Freeman of Sumiton; son, Steve Freeman (Elaine) of Sumiton; daughter, Cindy Parker (Kevin) of Alabaster; grandchildren, Mark Freeman of Calera, Zach Parker (Ivy) of Alabaster, Madison Parker of Alabaster, and Sarah Freeman of Sumiton; great grandchildren, Everette and Evan; brother, Marvin Freeman of Dora; sisters, Brenda Elliott of Spruce Pine and Linda Watson of Dora;; and several nieces and nephews.
