Lola Bess Griffin Hollis, age 99 of Dora, passed away surrounded by her family Thursday, August 17, 2023. Lola was born March 18, 1924 to the late Thomas Crawford and Cora Bookout Griffin. She was a 1940 graduate of Corner High School. She was an avid Crimson Tide and Atlanta Braves fan. A lifetime member of Bethel Baptist Church and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Morris Lael Hollis; a daughter, Brenda Marbutt; and two sisters, Delilah Griffin Averhart and Christine Ridgeway.

She is survived by her son, Steve Hollis(Debi); three grandchildren, Alex S. Hollis, Carmen S. Hollis and Chris Marbutt; two great grandchildren, Justin Marbutt and Brandon Marbutt; and a son in-law Danny Marbutt.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 21, at 2:00 PM from Bethel Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday, at the church from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Bro. John Foles officiating
