Lloyd Timothy Young, known as Tim, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at his residence after a hard fought battle, with his wife and girls always by his side. Funeral service will be Monday, August 12, 2024 at 1:00pm at Bell Sumiton Chapel visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial to follow at Morgan Cemetery. Pastor Joey Hill will be officiating the service.

Born and raised with a deep passion for history and a sense of humor that made him a beloved friend and family member, Tim earned his Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology and Gunsmithing in Denver, Colorado. He retired as a Maintenance Mechanic at UAB and was an lifetime member of the Alabama Gun Collectors Association, reflecting his lifelong love of guns and gun collecting.

Tim was known for his warm, jovial nature, often described as a "Buddy" by his friends. He had a knack for telling jokes and making people laugh. His love for reading, especially history and the Bible, was matched only by his enthusiasm for building things, including his cherished cabin on their land. A dedicated family man, Tim adored his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always had candy on hand and was known to enjoy a good grape Pop-Tart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd S. and Mary Katherine Myers Young.

Tim is survived by his loving wife, LaNita Young; his daughters, Felecia Brasfield and Lori Headrick Denny (Danny); his son, Jeremy Headrick; grandsons, Andrew Wilson (Nicole Riquelme), Bradley Headrick, and Austin Denny (Brooke); granddaughter, Alex Reed (Trey); and great-grandchildren, Barrett Denny and Amelia Denny, and a host of other family and friends.
