Mr. Kenneth E. McCarty, age 84, of Jasper passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Walker Baptist Medical Center. He was an avid Alabama fan.  He retired from being mayor of the town of West Jefferson and the director of building services at UAB after 30 years. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 24, 2023 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial at Freewill Cemetery (West Jefferson). Bo Brown will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberlee A. Waldrop; granddaughter, Candace A. Capps; mother, Mary Alice Johns McCarty; father, William C. McCarty; sisters, Catherine McCarty and Patsy R. Hand; and brothers, William D. McCarty and Ralph A. McCarty.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Patty McCarty; brother, Neil W. McCarty (Dorothy); and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
