John Herman Tidwell, 75, of Jasper, crossed over to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Bell Sumiton Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of services, burial to follow at New Hope cemetery.

John was preceded in death by his wife and soulmate, Darlene "Darcee" Tidwell; son, John Anthony "Tony" Tidwell; parents, Herman and Lorene Manasco Tidwell, siblings, Linda Tidwell, Ed Tidwell, Virgil Tidwell, Harold Tidwell, Danny Joe Tidwell and sister and also best friend Mary Hann.

John is survived by his son, Donald Shay Tidwell; granddaughter, Jennifer Tidwell (Christy), grandson, Anthony "Tony" Tidwell, great-granddaughters, Keelie, Mattie and Carlie; special niece and great-niece, Belinda "Lou" Hann and Hannah Handley; stepson, James Ruston; brother, Arley Tidwell; and a beautiful host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and - nephews, great-great-nieces and -nephews, his amazing caregiver Deb, the entire staff of Talladega Care; special friend; Nita; and a host many family members and friends.
