Joseph Alan Gurley, a beloved father, partner, friend, uncle, grandfather, music man, and lightning strike, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024. Born on November 22, 1960, in Corner, AL, to the late Kate and Pete Gurley, Joe left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Joe was the life of any party, radiating warmth and joy with his infectious smile and ability to connect with anyone. A comforting presence, he was always there with a listening ear and a knack for making you laugh, no matter the circumstances. His endearing nicknames and southern charm made him feel like a warm embrace from across state lines.

Joe's legacy will live on through the countless memories he created and the positive impact he had on those around him. He was always there to offer support, guidance, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Joe is survived by his three cherished daughters - Erica, Erin, and Sabryna Gurley, his loving partner - Patty Scott, his sister - Jerry Gurley, his grandchildren - Tyler and Braxton, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents - Kate and Peet, and his brothers - Max and Howard Gurley.

Funeral Service will be at 3:00pm on Saturday August 24, 2024 at Bell Funeral Home Sumiton Chapel. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
