Joan M. Brasher, age 90, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at her residence. Bell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Joan was a devoted pianist for the Gospel Carriers and West Jefferson Baptist Church and Flat Creek Baptist Church, and she served as manager of the Sumiton Senior Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Claude C. and Addie Odelle Mize.

Joan is survived by her brother; Mitchell (Jan) Mize, daughter; Vanessa B. Davis (Hugh Grant), son; Mark Brasher (Tommie), Niece; Michelle M. Burchfield (Scott), grandchildren; Heather Blackmon (Derek), Samantha Causey (Chasi), Jared (Maddie) McSpadden, and five great-grandchildren.  grandchildren.
