Obituary

Jimmie Grace Watts Barnes, age 81 of Graysville formerly of the Snowtown community passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 28, 2018 at her home.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Shanghi Cemetery.  Pastor Harold Spradlin will officiate.  Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barnes served as secretary and treasury of the Jefferson County Rescue Squad for more than 25 years.  Preceding her in death were her husband of 51 years, James E. Barnes, Sr.; parents, Charlie and Vera Watts; sister, Betty Jo Morgan; brothers, Charles "Bud" Watts, Mickey Watts, Ray Watts, Eddie Watts, and Jerry Watts; one great grandchild and one great-great grandchild.

Survivors include her children, James E. Barnes, Jr. and his wife, Jeanette, Sharon Barnes Capellino and her husband, Randy, Bobby Barnes and his wife, Liz, and Vicki Barnes Nichols and her husband, Mark; sisters, Barbara "Dolly" Spears, Shirley Black, Patsy Hicks, Glenda Hall, and Debbie Robbins; brothers, Wayne Watts and Randy Watts; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
