James Henry Pettit, age 85 of Cordova died May 22, 2019 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.  Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 24, 2019 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.  Bell Sumiton Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Doris Pettit; son-in-law, Dayce Davenport; great granddaughter, Nicole Rogers; and six brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his children, Nancy Davenport, Anita Wingo (Anthony), James Pettit (Jenny), and Sandra Burgess (Frank);brothers, Jerry Pettit and Jerald Pettit; sisters, Helen Harper and Joan Fields; grandchildren, Carla Johnson, Tracy Humphries, Misty Davenport, Kayla Warley, Stephanie Wingo, Jennifer Wingo, Haley Pettit, Lauren Pettit, Samantha Burgess, Emilie Burgess,  Daniel Burgess and Gabriel Spier; and 17 great grandchildren.
