Iris Singleton McAvoy, age 43 of Dora celebrated her homecoming with the Lord on April 9th, 2024 in the excellent care of UAB hospital surrounded by her family. She loved spending time with her beloved son, Nathan. Nathan was her everything and she loved him beyond anything in this world. The funeral service will be held at Bell Funeral Home Sumiton Chapel on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 at 12:00pm. The visitation for friends will be at 11:30am. She will be buried at Shanghi cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, JD Daniel; grandparents, James Singleton, SR. and Lucile Cunningham Singleton; aunt, Liz Williams, Pup, and the love of her life, David McAvoy.

She is survived by her beloved son, Nathan McAvoy; parents, James and Kathryn Singleton; grandmother, Dorothy "Dot" Daniel; sister, Melissa Singleton Bean; lifelong friend, Jennifer Reese, and a host of cousins and friends.
