Mr. Gurley Alvin Kilgore Sr., age 59, of Bessemer passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.  Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 21, 2021 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Brasfield Cemetery.  Bro. Hollis Alexander will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services.  Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Calloway Kilgore; parents, Alvin and Cora Kilgore; son, Calvin Johnsey; sister, Dorothy Glaze; and brothers, Clifford Kilgore and James Terry Kilgore.

He is survived by his children, Mary Carlisle, Julia Martinez, Gurley Kilgore Jr., and Jess Kilgore; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Betty Henderson (Ronald), Katherine Tuggle and Gail Chilton (Jessie); and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
