Obituary for Gerald Wayne Salter
Gerald Wayne Salter, beloved brother and uncle, passed peacefully from this world March 26, 2025, at the age of 75. He was the youngest of 11 children blessed to late parents Stella Green Salter and Evan Salter formerly of Praco, Alabama.

Gerald is survived by his former wife, Sandy Surko and two sons, Evan Salter and Jeremy Salter. Siblings he is survived by are Peggy Salter Tanner (late husband- Russell) and Jerry Salter (wife- Barbara).

Siblings he was preceded in death by are Wesley Salter (surviving wife- Shirley), Raymond Salter (surviving wife- Pat), Jeannette Salter English (husband- W.T.), Went Salter (wife- Martha), Louise Salter Cupp (husband- Dan), Hearland Hershel Salter aka Baby Boy, Kitty Salter Banks (husband- Ron), and Faye Salter Woodall (husband- Allen).

Those who met Gerald loved his kindness and his smile. He was also known for his love of animals.
The family would like to thank two special nieces, Starla Broadhead and Leisa Morgan, for their loving time and attention afforded to Gerald in these later years. Much appreciation is given to Shadescrest Health Care for their continued care towards Gerald during his stay at their facility. Finally, thank you to those of Gentiva Hospice for their loving support during his end-of-life transition.

Gerald requested that his remains be cremated. There will not be a memorial service. The family requests that any donations be made to Shadescrest Health Care in Jasper, Alabama.
