Lou Ellen Starnes, 88 of Bremen, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on Wednesday, June 29, 1938 and died on Saturday, August 15, 2026. She was a lifelong member of Mount Hope Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Bert and Liddy Fine, her husband George H. Starnes, and her sister Helen Mays. She is survived by her sons Phillip Starnes and his wife Kathy, Farrell Starnes and his wife Sharon, Steve Starnes and his wife Frankie, and Ronnie Starnes and his wife Shelley. She is survived by her grandchildren Kerri Parker and her husband Steve, Beth Borders and her husband Rob, MaLea Starnes, Emily Bahrik and her husband Kevin, Joey Starnes and his wife Sherry, Haley Turner and her husband Keith, and Heather Starnes. She is survived by her great grandchildren Maverick Bahrik, Lydia Borders, Landon Borders, Brody Bahrik, Annie Bahrik, Kaylie Turner, Paisley Turner, Elijah Turner, and Logan Oliver. She is survived by her great great grandchildren Aaron Bahrik and Kinsley Bahrik. She is also survived by her sister Yolanda Arnold and her husband Mark, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. The family wishes to thank Aveanna Home Health and Hospice for their compassion and support. 

Graveside services for Ellen will be Tuesday, August 18, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at Walker Memorial Gardens.
