Mr. Edwin Amon Jones, ager 88, of Jasper passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at Shadescrest Health Care Center.  Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Davis Cemetery.  Rev. Josh Mayes will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services.  Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Edwin joined the Navy and served from 1951-1954 and earned the National Defense Service Medal.  He married Billie Jane Peffer on December 12, 1953.   He always loved spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered as a sweet man with a mischievous side.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He will be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Billie Jane Jones; parents, Fonzie and Marie Jones; sisters, Mildred Cordes (Leo), Peggy Jean Gillespie, and Sarah Thomas (Howard); and beloved niece, Jean Boshell. Our family would like to honor Jean for the special care she gave to Edwin and all our family.

He is survived by his son, David Jones (Mimi); daughter, Denise Bourassa (Steve); brothers, Kenneth Jones, Alvin Jones and Milton Jones (Sandy); sisters, Alice Miller (Robert) and Sheila Carman (Dave); grandchildren, Kelsey Jones, Kevin Jones (Brady), Courtney Jones, Jacob Bourassa,  and Jonathan Bourassa; great grandchildren, Griffin Jones McCormick and Barrett David Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.
