Mrs. Dorothy Smothers, age 81, of Jasper passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at her residence.  Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Brasfield Cemetery.  Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

She is preceded in death by her father, Coleman Stephens; mother, Flora Stephens; sister, Colleen Nix; brother, Jimmy Stephens; grandsons, Nicholas Hawkins and Brendan Reed; and son-n-laws, Jimmy Reed and George Webb.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Franklin Smothers of Sipsey; son, Thomas Smothers (Janice) of Curry; daughters, Lisa Reed of Bagley, Vicki Frederick of Sipsey and Daphne Webb of Sipsey; Seven grandchildren; Ten great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Chance and Linda Bunt (Bobby); brother, Hubert Stephens (Cathy); and a host of other family and friends.
