On Thursday, February 17, 2022 Donna P. Hill "Granny", age 70, of Cordova was welcomed into her heavenly home by her son, Chris Nelson. She was born on August 19, 1951. Donna worked in the trucking field for many years, along side her beloved son, Anthony. However, her greatest accomplishment was when her grandchildren were born. Tyler, Austin, Kirklan, Aubrie, Ayson, Bitty, Cash and Blu brought her the most joy over the past 30 years, along with their friends from Valley and Cordova School. When she wasn't busy spoiling her grandchildren she enjoyed traveling to various concert events with her sister and best friend, Annette McClendon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Kathleen Whitworth; sons, Chris and Chad Nelson; niece, Kelly McClendon; nephew, Matthew Elliott; and special friend, Linda Raney.

She is survived by her son, which she was most proud of, Anthony A. Nelson, and his wife, Heather; grandchildren, Tyler Nelson, Kirklan Nelson, Austin Callahan (Beth), Aubrie Howton, Ayson Nelson, Amersyn "Bitty" Nelson, Cash Nelson and Blu Nelson; one great grandchild due in August, Baby Callahan; siblings, Jim Williams, Sheila Walton (Roy), Sandra Jones (Dr. Larry), Jackie McGaughy (Gary) and Hank Elliott (Carla); former husband and father of her children, William Nelson; special friend, George Raney, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, February 21, 2022 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial at New Canaan Cemetery. Pastor T.J. Armstrong will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Pall bearers will include, Steven Manasco, Tyler Hoobler, Lesley Odom, Brandon Williams, Jim Williams, Ryan Stewart and special pall bearer, Ayson Nelson.
