David Marion Jenkins age 77, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, February 14, 2025 at Bell Funeral Home Sumiton Chapel. The visitation will be at 1:30pm. David will rest at Midway Church of Christ Cemetery. Bro. Hollis Alexander will officiate.

David Marion Jenkins was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1948 to Alvin and Nellie Jenkins. His father, Alvin, was a decorated war hero in World War II in the European Theatre. His mom was a marvelous cook and ran a school lunchroom for many years.

David attended Louisiana State University (LSU) graduating with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He retired from BE&K in 2017. He and his wife, Karen, met near her mother's in Birmingham, Al.

David had two brothers, both of whom are now deceased. Richard and Robert Jenkins.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; Alvin and Nellie Jenkins, and his grandparents.

David is survived by his loving wife; Karen, his nephew; Charles Jenkins, and his first cousin; Janet Thames, who resides in Louisiana.
