Barbara Diane Gentry Beck

July 1, 1958 - August 30, 2026

Barbara Diane Gentry Beck, lovingly known by many simply as Sister Beck, born on July 1, 1958, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 30, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Diane lived a life marked by faith, love, strength, and an unwavering confidence in Jesus. She fought many battles with cancer throughout her life, and through every battle, she held tightly to her faith. Time and time again, she came through victorious-not because the road was easy, but because she knew the One who walked every step with her.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Randy Beck, with whom she shared a life of ministry, family, and faith. And their daughter Kristy Diane Beck. Together, she and Pastor Beck served faithfully, and Diane was honored to serve as the beloved First Lady of Dora Church of God for many, many years.

To those who knew her, Diane was so much more than a title. She had a God-given gift for making people feel loved, welcomed, and at home. She could meet someone for the first time and somehow make them feel like family. Her heart was always open, her hands were always willing to serve, and there was always room for one more at her table.

She poured herself into countless ministries over the years, including the wonderful Fall Festival and food ministries, always finding ways to bless others. Whether she was serving a meal, organizing an event, praying for someone, or simply sitting down and listening, Diane had a way of making people feel seen and loved.

Her greatest ministry, however, was the life she lived before her family. She loved fiercely, prayed faithfully, and demonstrated what it meant to trust God through every season. Her faith was not simply something she talked about-it was something she lived.

Diane leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her children: Kendall (Lenzi) Beck, Patrick "Gator" (Jessica) Darty, Kody Lee Beck, and Bonita (Tommy) Bussey. She was a treasured grandmother to Luke Darty, Cole (McKenzie) Chapman, Eli Chapman, Erika (Nate Payne)Darty, Mackenzie Beck, Kambree Mae Beck, and Sadie, and a beloved great-grandmother to Tatum Payne. And special friend, Michael Cummings.

Visitation for Diane Beck will be Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Dora Church of God. Funeral services will be Friday, September 4, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Dora Church of God. Her son, Rev. Kendall Beck, Rev. Ricky Levell, and Rev. Nelson Kimberly will be officiating and Bell Funeral Home- Sumiton will be directing.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that a monetary donation be made to the Dora Church of God for the Fall Festival which she loved to plan every year.

Her family was her greatest earthly treasure, and the love she poured into them will continue through every generation that follows.

In her final season, Diane was cared for through hospice and surrounded by the family she loved. And when the time came, she did not walk that final road alone. With her loved ones near and her faith still strong, she took her final steps here and walked into Glory.

We grieve because we love her, but we do not grieve without hope.

The woman who spent her life telling others about Jesus has now seen Him face to face.

The hands that spent a lifetime serving others are now resting in the presence of her Savior.

The voice that prayed, encouraged, welcomed, and loved so many is now singing in Heaven.

And one glorious day, those who love her and believe, will see her again.

Diane finished her race.

She kept the faith.

And now she is home.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."

- 2 Timothy 4:7
